PLATTO LAW FIRM ANNOUNCES NEW DIRECTION
Arbitration/Mediation/Expert Witness Services/Litigation
Oversight and Management
The Law Offices of Charles Platto operated as a national litigation boutique, with a speciality in complex commercial and insurance matters, for more than a decade from our base in Vermont and New Hampshire, with a New York satellite office. In 2007, we temporarily closed the office, when Chuck left to develop and head the Insurance Practice Group of Wiggin and Dana, a well regarded regional law firm. Chuck has now re-established The Law Offices of Charles Platto, based full time in New York, where Chuck began his career and practiced for 20 years as a commercial litigation partner at Cahill Gordon & Reindel.
The Law Offices of Charles Platto (New York) will be an independent practice concentrating in the areas of domestic and international commercial and insurance arbitration, mediation, expert witness services, and litigation oversight and management.
Chuck will continue to teach Insurance Law and Litigation at Fordham Law School as an adjunct professor, as he has done for several years, following prior appointments as an adjunct professor at NYU and Vermont Law Schools. He will also continue to serve as a Vice Chair of the ABA Tort Insurance Practice Sections (TIPS) Insurance Coverage Committee and continue to remain active in the International Bar Association, where he chaired the International Litigation Committee and The Task Force on Economic Consequences of Litigation Worldwide and edited nine books on International Litigation.

issues of national scope, including catastrophe claims handling, mold

environmental and other complex insurance matters.

class actions, insurance and commercial matters.

Our goal is to provide quality service at reasonable prices within our
areas of specialty. We are able to do this because of our size, location
and experience base. In our role as lead or co-counsel, we often work
with large and small firms in major cities. In addition, we handle local
counsel work and conflict situations in our region and elsewhere where
our professional colleagues can rely on the quality and integrity of our
work. We are a small, but growing new firm, with a long and proud tradition
and heritage. We look forward to the opportunity to serve you.
